PERFORMANCE EVALUATION IN TERMS OF HOTEL COST STRUCTURES: THE EXAMPLE OF AZERBAIJAN REGIONS

Summary/Abstract: As Azerbaijan's tourism sector develops, understanding and optimizing cost structures is vital for sustainable growth. In this study, the performance status of Azerbaijan regions is investigated, taking into account the cost structures of hotels serving in the regions of Azerbaijan. The study aims to provide information to optimize regional performance by understanding regional differences in cost structures. The data used in the study was provided from the official website of the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency. In order to determine the criteria that most affect hotel cost structures, the importance levels of the criteria were determined with CRITIC, one of the weighting approaches in MCDM. The performance status of 9 different regions of Azerbaijan was analyzed with EXCEL 2013, considering 8 criteria. According to the analysis results, it has been determined that the Qazax-Tovuz region has a visible success compared to other regions in terms of hotel cost structure.
