Summary/Abstract: This paper is examining Popper’s critique of psychoanalysis as a doctrine that satisfies verificationistic principle of demarcation, while it does not satisfy falsificationistic principle of demarcation. Even though Popper provided very clear criteria for testing falsifiability of theories, he has never illustrated his principle on an example. The aim of this paper is to thoroughly examine the scientific status of psychoanalysis by using the instructions given by both, verificationistic and falsificationistic principle of demarcation and to, by using a specific example, thourughly illustrate the difference between these two principles.
