Summary/Abstract: The object of this research is the stylistics of religious texts. In this article the texts of Julius Sasnauskas book “Once again – God’ Son” are analyzed. The analysis focuses on the stylistic features of texts: irony, paradox, metaphor. The following question emerge: how religious texts can be developed, what differences are between stylistic of religious and literary texts. The topic of the article is closely related to the works of Hans Robert Jauss, where the dialogicity of texts is analyzed, and to the Paul Ricoeur’ theory of metaphor. The most important feature of the analyzed religious texts is the poetical thinking. The metaphoricality of language provokes faith, and allows to express the paradoxes of Christian truths. The specific of the postilla’gender is also discussed in this research. Julius Sanauskas notably does not follow the tradition of postilla. He is in searching of the new forms. His texts may be called not only a sermon, a prayer, a meditation, but they are also very closely linked to an essay, which possibly allows to express the religious authenticity in the best way. So literary form in Julius Sasnauskas’ texts is like a means to convey the religious thoughts.
