Summary/Abstract: Esther, an orphaned Jewish girl, raised by Mordecai, her older cousin, became the queen of Persia by marrying the Persian king Ahasuerus (Xerex I). Esther’s date of birth and death are not recorded in any source. It is assumed that the events described in the book „Esther”, the 17th of the 39 books of the Old Testament, took place in the third year of the reign of the emperor Xerex I, respectively in the year 484 BC, which leads to the conclusion that she was born in the 6th century BC. and would have died in the 5th century BC. Reading the book „Esther”, you are amazed by the extraordinary spiritual wealth of Esther who, from an orphan girl, became the wife and empress of the Persian king Xerex I and who, most importantly for the Jewish people, managed to save all the Jews from this empire by the genocide planned by the vizier Haman.
