Summary/Abstract: This work is about the 40 hafizes (memorizers of whole Qur’an) from Banja Luka region. They were surely more of them, and that fact obligates us to further investigation, not only in the mentioned regions, but the other areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well. The hafizes of Banja Luka region deserve special respect and estimation. The most significant personality of this region was hajji hfz. Ibrahim ef. Maglajlić, not only because he was reisu-l-ulama (grand mufti) but because many Krajina hafizes of that time had been awarded the title by him and because of the fact that he was their professor at Fejzija Madrasa in Banja Luka. In addition to that, hajji hfz. Ibrahim was mentor to a few qurra' hafizes and in this way renewed the tradition of studies of qira'at in our regions. Besides all other obligations, he had strength to do some political work, what resulted in foundation of a political party under the name "Yugoslav Moslem organization". Nevertheless, he had the most success as hafiz and professor, teaching young generations and continued tradition of learning hifz acting as muhafiz. His students had later become madrasa professors, imams, khatibs, muallims etc. They all were attaining good results in the times of great difficulties and temptations.
