Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the solution to the skeptical paradox provided by theory of relevant alternatives. The paper examines and compares two versions of this solution: the noncontextualist, invariantist version, whose creator and representative is Fred Dretske, and contextualist, variantist version, defended by Keith DeRose and Stewart Cohen. By analyzing invariantist and variantist solution, the author comes to the conclusion that, although both solutions have positive and negative implications, Dretske`s theory of relevant alternatives offers more convincing explanation and solution to the skeptical paradox.
