Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyze art. 19 of the United Nations Charter regarding the suspension of the right to vote in the United Nations General Assembly. The main thesis of the article is that art. 19 of the United Nations Charter constitutes a genuine legal sanction, specific to public international law. Throughout the article we will try to answer the following: Under what conditions is this legal sanction available?, To whom can this sanction be applied?, What are the facts that can lead to the application of such a legal sanction?
