Summary/Abstract: The goals of this article are twofold. The first is to describe the structural models of school education in Bulgaria, the Republic of Northern Macedonia and Serbia. To show what primary and secondary education look like with the different cycles and periods they involve. This description is based on the main educational regulations in the countries and the information in the large educational databases on the Internet.The second goal is to make a comparison between the three structural models and to conclude if there are more similarities or more differences between them.The three countries are compared due to their similar social, political and economic characteristics. To a greater extent, the similarities are between the Republic of Northern Macedonia and Serbia. Bulgaria differs from its two neighbors in the number of classes in different educational levels and in the organization of its vocational education.
