Administrative and disciplinary proceedings against the caretaker Józef Książkiewicz as a minor contribution to the history of the Library of Poznań University in the inter-war period

Summary/Abstract: This article describes the disciplinary proceedings following professional mis- conduct of one caretaker employed by the University Library in Poznań. Author analyses the disciplinary action carried out by the Disciplinary Commission of Poznań University in 1938 against a Józef Książkiewicz, the library’s caretaker. In a broader perspective, the case in question relates more to the issue of the every-day relationship between officials of the lower rank in the Second Republic, whereas locally it relates to and documents conflicts among staff workers resulting from mismanagement of the Poznań-based library.
