Summary/Abstract: Any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data regarrding a specific person, falls within the rule of REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) unless an exception provision is applicable. The processing of the personal data regarding a person who is using the highway network of a Member State without paying the legal tax issued by that specific Member State must be considered as necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.
