Summary/Abstract: Today, archaeology not only helps us to understand the past, but also seems to be an appropriate tool to understand the present. It reflects important social issues (migration, social inequalities, climate change). Based on historical events, we outline the main interactions that occur when different ethnic groups meet. Questions about population change or cultural shift are answered using the methods of anthropology.
