Summary/Abstract: This article is a look at contemporary theater in the context of using VR techniques within the stage space. It aims to identify new tendencies and forms of artistic expression. Interest in advancing digital technology in the world of media is no longer surprising. Theater artists are reaching for new tools and ways of communicating with their audience. Interactivity in the performing arts forms a diverse view of theater, specifically, from the viewer’s perspective as an active participant and conscious recipient. Virtual reality in the theater of the 21st century raises questions about the attitude of creators toward the contemporary recipient, as well as about the relationship between the actor and the director in creating the stage space.
