Summary/Abstract: Choosing a high school is essential for future employment, especially for people with hearing impairment. It has been shown that most of the students with hearing impairment are oriented towards secondary schools with different focuses that emphasise their possible future employment. In recent years there has been a growing trend of Slovak students with hearing impairment, especially Slovak sign language users, choosing secondary schools for students with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. Therefore, the aim of our research was to investigate what both determines and leads them to choose a secondary school in the neighbouring Czech Republic. We used two methods. We conducted a content analysis of secondary school studies to compare Slovakia and the Czech Republic. At the same time, we approached Slovak students and graduates with a 21-question questionnaire. The aim of this paper is to present the results of the quantitative research on a sample of 21 respondents. At the same time, it presents the results of the respondents‘ opinions and attitudes. It focused on the analysis of the justification for the choice of secondary schools for pupils with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic.
