THE ROLE OF STUDENT PLACEMENTS IN DEVELOPING THE COMPETENCES USEFUL IN PROFESSIONAL WORK

Summary/Abstract: This article aims to present the role and value of student work placements asseen from the perspective of both the student and the employer in terms of desir-able and useful competencies for employment. This illustrative article examinesthe role played by student work placements in building students’ practical skills.It emphasises the fundamental importance of placements as a link between theo-retical learning and concrete practical skills. The presentation of these perspectivesalso makes it possible to outline an area for deepening cooperation between theuniversity and employers.
