Summary/Abstract: The main task of the article is to analyze a socio-political aspect of Immanuel Kant’s philosophy. The analysis is shown in the context of the modern, liberal critique of the Socratic-Christian paradigm. The author presents Kant’ standing as a specific attempt to reconcile the main liberal ideas: Cartesian Cogito, the idea of the free market, and the most important elements of Plato’s philosophy – the objective status of Good and Justice. The effect of this operation is an idea of the “middle way”, which stands as a fundament of classical and contemporary social democratic thought.
