Collections of hearth accessories from the Furniture collection of the Ethnographic Museum

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents collections of museum objects that in the traditional culture of housing were related to the hearth and fire. Collections of fireplace accessories are limited to items that are directly in the function of fire, its maintenance and its exploitation. This means that they do not include all objects of material culture that could be found on the hearth, such as numerous dishes for thermal preparation of food. In addition to the form and function of individual types of fire accessories, data on the method of manufacture and meaning in culture are also given. Also, a quantitative analysis of the contents of collections of accessories in the function of the hearth is given.
