POLICE ACTIONS IN CONNECTION WITH THE ACCEPTANCE OF A NOTICE OF RAPE IN THE CONTEXT OF COUNTERACTING SECONDARY VICTIMIZATION

Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the assessment of the existing regulations concerning the act of accepting the notification of the crime of rape in a situation where the notifying person is the victim in the context of counteracting the phenomenon of secondary victimization. Preventing this phenomenon in the field of sexual offenses, and especially in the case of rape, appears to be particularly important due to the specific nature of this crime and the extensive range of consequences that its commission entails. The article addresses both the procedural aspects of the act in the form of accepting a notification of the crime of rape, as well as the practical aspects resulting from the “Procedure for the Police to deal with a person who has experienced sexual violence”.
