Summary/Abstract: A. Dugin’s political philosophy is permeated with mysticism and Orthodox Christian religiosity, which leaves a strong mark on such political ideas as Eurasianism, anti-Occidentalism, the Russian World and Dugin’s original Fourth Political Theory. The role of the Russian philosopher in forming of the domestic political thought and politics itself suggests an analogy to the same role of Carl Schmitt in fascist Germany, including an analogy to the discussion on this role. The authors hypothesise that regardless the controversy of this issue, A. Dugin is considered both as an articulator of the spirit of deeply dormant views in Russian society and in part of the elite, as well as a thinker who reinforces this spirit and provides deep moral and philosophical justifications for the Russian opinion-makers. The purpose of this article is the interpretation of Dugin’s theory in the political science senses paying attention particularly to the role of Russian Orthodox Christianity in it. Thus chosen methodological perspective prejudges the structure of the study.
