Summary/Abstract: Water, the fluid element, constantly in a state of change in multiple forms and hypostases, reveals its special symbolism in an extraordinary category of our folklore, namely enchantment. From the multitude of hypostases in which I found water in poetry and in practice of the enchantments, for this article I chose a special type of water, the ”not started” water or ”a virgin” water, from poetry and the practice of enchantments. This water had to meet certain conditions to become a ”not started” water or ”a virgin” water: to be taken in the morning, without being seen by anyone else, brought from clean springs, and it thus became a therapeutic-magical water, used by humans in treating multiple types of diseases.
