Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to analyse the manner in which Maurice Ravel uses musical language to harmonize a series of songs from the Greek folklore. Decoding a score is necessary so as to express the meaning contained in the musical language and the path followed by the performer connotes several factors. The analysis will be accompanied by examples and the interpretive suggestions are justified by the conclusions drawn after the analysis of the main coordinates of the writing.
