Summary/Abstract: This paper explores interdisciplinary collaboration by looking at some of the changes taking place in the goals and methods of the study of Greek housing. I highlight ways that interaction with adjacent disciplines has shaped scholarly approaches to the archaeological material, leading to changes both in research goals and in the techniques used to achieve them. Today, much innovative work consists of a social archaeology of Greek households which centres questions about daily practice, and which, although it takes into account relevant written sources, undertakes analysis and interpretation of the material evidence largely independently. I suggest that such work necessitates changing the way in which the primary evidence itself is gathered, with new forms of information collected in a more overtly interdisciplinary context.
