Summary/Abstract: After the Second World War, in the setting up context of Communism in Romania, the national sentiment can not be neglected. In the first stage of this process PCR could not avoid the national problem. The nationalistic manifestations created tension and conflicts among the party’s members. Thinking pragmatically, although lacking a short time policy, PCR tried to repress both in interior and exterior this sort of manifestations. But neglection of national sentiment brought the party in an unpopular position. In such a context, to make sure of the support from the masses, PCR had to make use of a moderate national propaganda. Thus, propagandistic campaigns developed by PCR resorted to national symbols as the popular costume, the heraldic national colors, and the celebration of the national days or of several national heroes.
