SOCIO-ECONOMIC INEQUALITIES AND A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE

Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of the article is to indicate the need to identify the problem of inequality in a broader perspective than the national economy. Apart from the economicaspects, the author also proposes a conception of the category of inequalities that includes also social factors related to the economic ones. Research method – The article is based on literature sources, there are no empirical ithreads in it. The article is an attempt to present far-reaching conclusions from the existing literature approaches, e.g. from the works of Th. Picketty. Results – Among the conclusions, one postulate should be emphasized: it refers to the issue of inequality to relations between states and the global scale. Originality   / value   / implications   / recommendations – The undertaken considerations imply the role of inequality as the basis of the multifaceted civilizational crisis that we are currently dealing with.
