Summary/Abstract: This paper is aimed at identifying how to accurately understand and interpret knowledge related idioms, expressions, and proverbs, which are an essential part of the English language. Learning idioms is no piece of cake and they can represent a difficulty in foreign language learning contexts. Although it is common knowledge that language is in constant evolution and some idiomatic expressions have fallen out of use, there are still many that stood the test of time. First, we should consider the definition of the elusive term “idiom” given by The Webster Dictionary, which defines idioms as:“an expression whose meaning cannot be predicted from the usual meanings of its constituent elements.”
