Summary/Abstract: The present paper, relying on data collected from various English dictionaries, focuses on the semantic field of the term heart, by trying to render its different meanings and connotations. Heart belongs to a category of words that is particularly interesting for the linguist, because its analysis solves a specific lexicological problem. The semantic richness of heart is reflected in all its meanings related to feelings.
