All these fascinating aspects have a great power to guide the reader to that literary desire to immerse in Kate Morton’s books. Generally speaking, Morton is such a beloved and appreciated author because she has the power to take her readers out of the comfort zone, a quality that is not easily found in many other writers. The Clockmaker’s Daughter presents a story hidden in a labyrinth where the characters’ secrets are kept until the very end. The novel should be read at a certain time, when the reader’s soul is thirsty, or perhaps when he needs a book that does not let him be discovered so easily. The study of literature is considered a wide-ranging field which encompasses a vast knowledge of both texts and contexts. In other words, there are plenty of aspects that should be taken into consideration to understand not only the text, but also the author who wrote it. It is also essential to know what kind of person composed the text and what had driven him or her to write. In other words, personality plays an essential role in the process of comprehending Morton’s story.
