Summary/Abstract: The work captures an incursion into a universe of senses and inner experiences that Emma, the main character of the novel "The bone fire" written by György Dragomán, lives experiences strongly influenced by the environment in which she discovers herself as a person. The 13 –years old stage of mental development characterized by the identity searching, character shaping and main values, transition from childhood to adolescence, childhood traumas caused by family loss, as well as the social reality that captures the period immediately after the fall of the communist regime put Emma in front of experiences that can be characterized as novel and almost inexplicable experiences - that is, liminal situations. Faced with these liminal situations lived as either terrifying or sublime, Emma tries to explain and explain herself. These paper therefore aims to highlight the way in which the tumult of these inner experiences is exteriorized and explained by manifestations and expressions that seem to crack the thread of reality characterized as gothic-light experiences and postmodern ones.
