Summary/Abstract: The purpose of our research is to reveal relationships between characters and objects in Matei Vișniec’s poetry and plays, considering that in his writings the association human – non-human often stands out even from the text title or from the list of characters. Our hypothesis was that in Vișniec’s writings objects are often more than accessories. For our study we have selected the following texts: Rondul de zi. We have found that, in Vișniec’s writings, the main meaning of the couple character – object is the alienation of man. The author treats objects as metaphors, as tools of this estrangement, as a minimum hallmark of his fictional characters, transfigurations of human beings that have lost their substance.
