Summary/Abstract: After 1919, the medical elite and numerous intellectuals began to show interest to matters such as: the improvement of the human stock, the topic of health and the biological future of the Romanian nation. This essay aims to present and analyze the importance of the biological improvement of the nation around the year 1935. The year itself is significant due to the fact that it coincides with the foundation of the Department of Demography, Anthropology and Eugenics of the Romanian Social Institute and also in the same year the Royal Romanian Society for Eugenics and the Study of Heredity.
