Summary/Abstract: Alexandru Ivasiuc is one of the writers who report the atrocities committed by the repressive apparatus, enslaved to political power. In his novels, the human tragedies from the period of the "obsessive decade" are represented, due to the promotion of the heroes' opposition to the perversion of consciences, pursued by the exponents of the totalitarian regime. Among the first writers, Ivasiuc revealed the abominable forms of unmasking, the cruelty of investigations in the famous "cellars" of the Security, the forms of dehumanization within communist prisons, blackmail, the omnipresence of informants, the ways of socio- political advancement, promotions due to obedience to the political regime and not competence, and many other methods that have generated stigmatization of the human being.
