THE NORMS OF THE LITERARY LANGUAGE AT THE LEXICAL AND PHONETIC LEVEL IN THE WORK OF DUILIU ZAMFIRESCU

Summary/Abstract: Although the norms of the literary language had begun to be fixed by the appearance of Timotei Cipariu's grammars and by the first orthographic reform assumed by the Romanian Academy, Duiliu Zamfirescu did not comply, being in terms of phonetics tributary, like many writers of the time, to dialectal interferences. At the lexical level, specific to its language, there is a great influx of neologisms, as a sign of the modernization of the language.
