Summary/Abstract: The article presents the concept of psychosocial adaptation, as well as compliance as a facilitative factor for adult adaptation to chronic hemodialysis treatment. Treatment compliance of hemodialysis patients is obviously associated with the rate of hospitalizations and mortality. For this reason, the development and improvement of the treatment compliance of the adult undergoing hemodialysis treatment is one of the main objectives of the activity of the psychologist within the Dialysis Center.
