Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to highlight the absolutely important role that love plays in our lives. Although this is not a new topic, it is as topical as can be, as the meaning of authentic love seems to have slipped from our grasp today. However, the focus of this paper will be on the implications of love, both theological or Christian and scientific. Much has been written about love over the centuries, especially in the Christian world, where love is the essence and the first virtue. It has its source in the love of God, and the love of our neighbour is the visible manifestation of love. All cultures and great religions have spoken of love, and yet it cannot be understood with reason, because the heart is difficult to understand with the mind. In recent decades, the sciences that study all aspects of the human being have made great progress and have been able to see how love works in a concrete way in the human being, for example in the brain, and that it helps to heal spiritual, psychological and even physical illnesses.
