Summary/Abstract: School satisfaction is an important component of life satisfaction, with children's and adolescents' level of well-being varying according to their relationships with peers, teachers and the quality of school experiences. According to the ecological theory of human development, a good and deep understanding of young people implies a systemic approach to their lives, emphasising their active role in their own developmental process, which in turn is influenced by social and cultural forces. Adolescents with a high level of school burnout no longer enjoy going to school, they become detached from school, from the experiences they can have in the school environment and this can affect the other dimensions of their lives.
