Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to offer a panoramic view of the loss of immaterial patrimony in the village of Chitid, Hunedoara County, Romania. I am interested in discussing how the loss can be reflected in the contemporary world and how this loss can be conjugated with emigration to other important places. I am also interested in observing how I can manage to discuss the idea of migration and industrialization that appeared after the Second World War. This migration has an important impact on this rural landscape, because it reflects how the mentalities change in eighty years. Also, it is essential to note how this change can be reflected in our days and how the world changed during the Communist and Post-Communist era. In order to offer a consistent view of the concept aforementioned, I will consider using the technique of close reading diverse monographic books, focusing on how to express the idea of conversion from a patriarchal world to a modern world. The creative use of language will be regarded as a means to make visible the new paradigm in which Romanian folklore can be understood and loved in contemporaneity.
