Summary/Abstract: A specific decoration technique for Germanic pottery vessels, both in Gepidic and Langobard society is the use of stamps. The present paper analyzes a particular group of vessels with this type of decoration from Transylvania’s Early Avar period cemeteries. As far as shape and stamp patterns are concerned, the vessels have good analogies from the western part of the Carpathian Basin.
