Summary/Abstract: Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is an instrument within the scope of the EUclimate policy implemented in order to complement the EU emissions trading system and toavoid the danger of carbon leakage. The paper discusses the principal elements of CBAM andconstitutes an attempt of its assessment as regards anticipated practical impacts and compatibilitywith chosen environmental principles.
