Summary/Abstract: The article presents a programme of mapping the Royal Estates in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania during the reign of King Stanislaus Augustus. Initiated by Antoni Tyzenhauz, the administrator of the Royal Estates in Lithuania, the programme was continued by his successors, Franciszek Rzewuski and Stanisław Poniatowski. It was intended to delineate the borders of the Royal Estates, classify the types of soil, and define the property relations to restore serfdom and distribute the new burdens of the population fairly. The methodology of field surveys and their results in a table and maps are described, and the progress of mapping the four Royal Estates was evaluated. The whole programme was not completed before the fall of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795.
