THE ATTACK EFFICIENCY IN THE FOOTBALL GAME OF THE "FAN S. NOLI" UNIVERSITY TEAM, PARTICIPATING IN THE EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY CHAMPIONSHIP, TIRANA 2023

Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the attack ability in the football game of the "Fan S. Noli" University team during the participation in the European University Championship which took place from 25.06.2023 to 2.07. 2023 in Tirana, Albania. The football team of "Fan S. Noli" University participated for the first time in a European competition. 16 teams participated in this championship and our team was ranked thirteenth in the final classification. Our objective was to pass the group, but it was not achieved and this constitutes the main focus of this study which will help us analyze the weak points of the game leading to their improvement in the future. One of the drawbacks of our game was the attack, therefore our focus will be precisely its analysis, identifying the factors that influenced its unsatisfactory quality, and drawing conclusions that will influence the team’s training scheme and improve their attack in the future. Attacking in football is an essential part of the game whose aim is to use strategy and tactical actions that enable finding the effective way to score. It involves organizing players, creating spaces, using different techniques such as dribbling, passing and scoring goals through safe passes into the opponent's area. In this study, we will address some of the main issues that led to weak attacks and failure to achieve our objectives. To measure the efficiency of the team in the attack department, the data published by the EUSA website as well as various observations and videos were used. The results of the study show that the largest number of goals were scored by the defensive departments and much less by the attack; there was a lack of cooperation between the defense-midfield department and the attack department; and also it was noticed the absence of a strong offensive player who would finalize in goals some of the opportunities created. This absence made the other players try to fulfill the attacking tasks leading, thus, to a decrease in their own efficiency. The results will be used by the authors to revise the schemes and make them more efficient; to enhance the technique of the players and increase their accuracy in scoring; to improve the conditional and coordination skills of the players, to motivate cooperation and communication between the players in the field; to recruit a genuine offensive player; and to analyze the opponent's game through various videos.
