Summary/Abstract: The article aims at showing the presence of Curzio Malaparte’s prose in Poland, mainly by characterizing subsequent Polish translations of individual works of the writer, as well as reactions to them exhibited by critics and interest of the readers. Out of necessity, the article is only an outline, however, it can be a base for further analysis of reception of Malaparte’s writing in Poland. From the information gathered on publications of the Italian authors an interesting model emerges. It links the changes in popularity of Malaparte in Poland with historic events and political situation.
