Summary/Abstract: Bulgarian Photo Club was established on 30 June 1920 to set the beginning of organized photographic movement in this country. The founders suggested the idea lectures to be delivered, courses in photography to be offered, plein-air workshops and a number of exhibitions to be held both in Bulgaria and abroad. Members of the Bulgarian Photo Club were both amateurs and some of the prominent photographers of the age such as Georgi St. Georgiev, Pencho Balkanski, Boncho Karastoianov, Peter Boev, Peter Bozhkov, Nikolay Popov, Lotte Michailova, etc. The Bulgarian Photo Club is still functioning regardless of all the political, social or economic changes.
