Summary/Abstract: The proxemic patterns, found inter alia in literature studies, can prove to be useful also in the study on the personal document literature. The quasi-diary of Leon Broel Plater (1897-1980) entitled Pan Stanisław na posadzie (Mr Stanisław in Town), a catholic priest coming from the Polish Livonia region, reveals a number of different forms of behavior characteristic to wealth, social status, convention etc. Plater catalogues the details remembered by him about Krasław, the origin town of the Plater family, he recalls the history of the place, its legends and myths, he portrays the family members and the society. Implementing the factography and reconstruction of his own perception into a fictional and sentimental plot allows the author, who had already published an ethnographical-historical brochure called Krasław, to present the reader with as many details dressed up in the form of a romance, which is much more attractive than a dry narration of a popular science article.
