PERPETRATORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN PENITENTIARY ISOLATION - LEGAL AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SITUATION LEGAL AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SITUATION AND PSYCHO-CORRECTIVE MEASURES APPLIED

Summary/Abstract: The article presents legal and psychosocial situation of inmates serving their sentences for domestic violence, as well as psychocorrectional programs applied to them in penitentiary isolation. Inmates convicted for domestic abuse are specific population in prisons, exposed to different forms of vio- lence from their fellow inmates. Main domestic abuse intervention programs applied in penitentiary isolation are The Duluth Model and Partner Program. Results of research on inmates that partici- pate in the programs indicate that the programs are highly effective.
