Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on censorship and press confiscations in the interwar period, drawing on the example of the Piast weekly. The author begins by discussing the legal basis for the confiscations of the Piast and describing the political importance of the magazine (first as the main bulletin of PSL [Polish Peasants’Party] ‘Piast’ and from 1931, as the local bulletin of this party). The quantitative (presented in terms of statistics) as well as qualitative analysis of the Piast issues and texts which were subject to confiscation, offers important insights. The author emphasises that the censorship became much more repressive following the adoption of anti-Piłsudski’s politics.
