Effectiveness of funds for tourism development in local communities in the region of Lodz

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is an evaluation of effectiveness of financial resources that local authorities in the region of Lodz allocate to promote and develop tourism. The authors present a widely discussed problem of tourist destination management. Next, they propose their own model of evaluation of effectiveness of local authorities’ actions for tourism development and promotion. They also critically verify the conclusions of their empirical research. They indicate unfortunately, that the discussed evaluation cannot be performed in a simple and obvious way.
