Summary/Abstract: The article presents a specific kind of narrative – the story that the viewers of popular TV series create in their minds while watching them. In their majority, they are, at the same time, readers of tabloids, which presents journalistic micro-narratives of the lives of the TV series stars. The author recalls the idea of John Fiske, who, in “Television Culture”, defines three types of “texts”. In Polish settings, the viewers’ narratives in general are not verbalized, still they enter certain intertextual relations with “primary” texts (the series narratives) and “secondary” texts (gossips, critics’ opinions). These relations modify the process of reception: the texts overlap, entering dialogue relations; they are congruent, or form the evidence of the contradictory decoding. Although the process of creation of such texts, and their contents are difficult to be examined empirically, they form a quite important element of the modern popular culture and of the “everyday narratives”.
