Main aspects of changes in the contemporary Polish family

Summary/Abstract: Social life, like all other elements of the world around us, is subject to change. Due totheir multiple factors: technological, organizational and individual influences of singularindividuals... these changes are more dynamic than changes in other dimensions of the realitysurrounding us. Since no element of material or social reality is excluded from the circle ofchanges, the family is also not free from alternations. A family functioning in larger socialstructures is particularly influenced by the changes that take place in them, forcing changesin family life in various directions. Considering the fact that family life is a very rich reality,and therefore the changes can be and are manifold. In this study, I limit myself in this articleto some of their dimensions. These are: the weakening of family ties, which is reflected inthe increasing number of divorces, quasi-family forms of life, such as singleism, cohabitation,“living apart together” and the low fertility rate of Polish families.Keywords: family bond, divorces, quasi-family forms of life, singl
