Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, there is a strong focus on rural development at both EU and national level, with the Leader-based approach being one of the successful directions. In Western Transdanubia, the rural development tasks are carried out by the Treasure of Pannonia Leader As-sociation (TPLA), located in the agglomeration of Győr. This study examines the success of the 2014–2020 application period, the development of the Acti-on Group's network and the changes that have taken place, anticipating future trends. The analysis was methodologically based on questionnaires completed by municipalities and businesses in the action area, supplemented by interviews with the association's Leaders. The results show that the success of the Leader programme depends to a large extent on the willingness of applicants, which varies from one municipality to another, and this is expected to increase in the future. The effectiveness of the Leader approach, and with it territorial development, can be further strengthened by expanding the network of partnerships and regional links.
