Summary/Abstract: The article, investigating the relations between the development of the modern literature on the extermination of Jews and the so-called Holocaust culture, is divided into two parts. The first section refers to the history of formation and the present stage of the Holocaust culture, and critically exposes the influence on this culture, exerted by the postmodern philosophy and literary theory, which reinforce the long-existing tendency to sacralize the Holocaust, its testimonies and symbols. The second section of the article concentrates on the novel “Tworki”, by Marek Bieńczyk. The novel is read as an artistic correlate of these postmodern ideas, concepts and thinking styles, which dominate the modern reflection on the literature of the Extermination.
