THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE SECURITY COMMANDER IN ENSURING SECURITY DURING THE PROTECTION OF PERSONS

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the work is to indicate the role and importance of the security com-mander in ensuring safety while protecting people. The article presents the hy-pothesis: the role of the commander in ensuring the safety of people is planning,organizing and managing his subordinate security personnel. The person ofthe security commander is important in ensuring the safety of the protectedpersons. The work uses a qualitative research method: analysis and criticismof articles on the subject. The conducted research shows that the security com-mander, as the most experienced employee with appropriate knowledge andcharacter traits, assigns security personnel appropriate tasks while ensuring theprotection of persons, and also determines the rules of their cooperation. Theactions taken, as well as the type and form of protection depend on the com-mander’s decision. The tasks performed by the security commander are of greatimportance in ensuring the safety of the protected person. The research carriedout in the article allows to confirm the hypothesis. The security commander isresponsible for planning the method of protecting an important person, orga-nizing security and managing the activities of security personnel. The role of thesecurity commander in ensuring security is important, therefore it is importantto focus on the suitability of a given person for this position. The work presentsthe tasks of the security commander. The analysis of these aspects allows tobroaden the knowledge of the tasks of the security commander during personalprotection, his psycho-physical predispositions and command styles. It allowsto ensure more effectively the safety of the protected person.
